He works regularly with Yasiin Bey as one-half of Black Star, and partners with producer Hi-Tek for Reflection Eternal. Then, he collaborates with Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Just Blaze, J Dilla, and Madlib. However, his landmark solo material sets him apart. Here, Kweli commands attention by delivering top-tier lyricism. Also, he crafts captivating stories and can rhyme over virtually any type of instrumental. Kweli founded Javotti Media in 2011, which is self-defined as “a platform for independent thinkers and doers.” The company, named after his paternal grandmother, released his 2011 album, Gutter Rainbows.
