SLAUGHTER burst onto the scene in 1990 with their debut Stick It To Ya, fueled by the hit singles “Up All Night” and “Fly to the Angels.” Their high-energy shows and MTV success quickly made them a major force in rock. They followed with a platinum home video, a gold live EP (Stick It Live), and contributed the theme song for Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. In 1992, their second album The Wild Life debuted at #8 on Billboard and went platinum, earning the band an American Music Award. That year brought challenges, including Mark Slaughter’s vocal-cord surgery, but the band returned strong and continued touring. As they prepared their third album Fear No Evil, guitarist Tim Kelly faced legal issues and Dana Strum suffered major injuries, but the band pushed forward, completing the record in 1994. After parting ways with Chrysalis/EMI, SLAUGHTER signed with CMC International and JVC Japan, launching worldwide touring and releasing the Rain On EP. Their first Japan tour was a major success, even with temporary guitarist Dave Marshall stepping in for Kelly. By 1996–97, SLAUGHTER recorded Revolution, their first enhanced CD, and joined major package tours with Vince Neil, Alice Cooper, Dokken, and Warrant—expanding their fanbase during a changing musical era. In 1998, tragedy struck when Tim Kelly was killed in a car accident. Their live album Eternal Live became both a celebration and a tribute. Jeff Blando—praised by Kelly himself—joined the band, and fan support pushed SLAUGHTER into a powerful new chapter. Through the late ’90s and early 2000s, the band toured heavily, released Back to Reality, appeared on VH-1, and saw renewed attention as “Fly to the Angels” and “Up All Night” topped major rock compilations. They joined major tours with Poison, Cinderella, Dokken, and Whitesnake and released DVDs and special editions of their early albums. From 2005 onward, SLAUGHTER continued bringing high-energy shows to casinos, festivals, biker rallies, and international stages including Sweden, Japan, Mexico, and Germany—often performing 40–50 shows per year. Their music saw a resurgence across radio and digital platforms, outpacing previous years and proving the staying power of their catalog. For over 30 years, SLAUGHTER has shown that passion, talent, and perseverance can outlast trends. Their music continues to connect with fans across generations—loud, proud, and built to last.
