James Montgomery has spent more than five decades as one of the blues world's most celebrated harmonica players, building a career that began in Detroit under the influence of legends like James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells before launching the James Montgomery Band in Boston. He has toured and shared the stage with artists including Johnny Winter, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, the Allman Brothers, and the Blues Brothers, earning recognition as one of the genre's most dynamic performers. Still touring today, Montgomery continues to perform with his longtime band while organizing all-star benefit concerts and championing causes that support blues musicians, veterans, and the preservation of blues history.
