For the first time on our stage, blues and R&B legend Greg Piccolo brings more than six decades of musical mastery to an unforgettable performance. Now touring in support of his acclaimed new release, Who Knows What the Future Holds, Piccolo is proving that great artists continue to evolve. At 75, Greg remains a commanding tenor saxophonist and vocalist, delivering original material with emotional honesty, wit, grit and soul. His music moves effortlessly through rhythm & blues, rock & roll, traditional jazz and blues, with occasional touches of reggae and world rhythms. His performances are spontaneous and instinctive—no rigid set lists, just a seasoned artist responding to the moment. Piccolo’s musical journey began at age 13 and includes 25 years as a key member of the worldrenowned Roomful of Blues horn section. Since leaving the band in 1994, he has spent more than three decades developing his own voice and leading Heavy Juice. His tenor saxophone reflects the influence of masters including Illinois Jacquet, Lester Young, Ben Webster and Red Prysock, while his distinctive phrasing and vocal delivery are unmistakably his own. Greg received Grammy album nominations for “He Was A Friend of Mine”, and “Blues Train” and was featured on “Ironic Twist”, the Grammy winning song by Jimmie Vaughan in 1991. Piccolo is a multi-nominated Blues Music Award artist and New England Music Hall of Fame inductee. Greg has shared stages and recordings with artists including Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughan, Pat Benatar, Big Joe Turner and Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson.
