Blending the spirit of their roots in the California desert and West Virginia countryside, the magnetic traveling folk duo Xander Hitzig and Nicole Olney weave dusty harmonies, rootsy rhythms, and a touch of cosmic twang into songs that wander through heartache, hope, and the strange beauty of belonging everywhere and nowhere at once. Whether busking on the sidewalk for hundreds outside of Hardly Strictly in San Francisco, or playing their at-home packed Thursday night residency in Maui, the Desert Hollow live show leaves an undeniable impact. Their new warmly received 2026 record, Music for the Folks, delivers their unique blend of heartfelt storytelling, rootsy instrumentation, a few background vocal harmonies by Lukas Nelson, and folk music —music for the folks.
