Following a recent injury, Joan Jett has undergone orthopedic surgery on a fractured vertebrae and will begin the necessary healing process. In close consultation with her doctors, Joan will not be able to perform at her forthcoming September scheduled shows including September 5 at Pacific Amphitheatre. While Joan hates to disappoint fans, she will be taking this time to focus on physical therapy and healing. She’s looking forward to delivering tremendous concerts for many years to come. While we understand this is a disappointment to all of you, we are happy to announce that Cheap Trick will be performing in her place, with X opening the show. If you wish to attend the Cheap Trick / X show on September 5, do nothing and your tickets will be valid. We look forward to seeing you. Formed in 1977, X quickly established itself as one of the best bands in the first wave of L.A.'s flourishing punk scene, becoming a legendary leader of a punk generation. The band’s debut 45, featuring vocalist Exene Cervenka, vocalist/bassist John Doe, guitarist Billy Zoom and drummer DJ Bonebrake, was released on the seminal Dangerhouse label in 1978, followed by seven studio albums released from 1980 to 1993. Over the years, the band has released several critically acclaimed albums, topped the music charts with regularity and performed its iconic hits on top television shows such as Letterman and American Bandstand. X’s first two studio albums, “Los Angeles” and “Wild Gift,” are ranked by Rolling Stone among the top 500 greatest albums of all time. X’s album of original songs, “Alphabetland,” the first since 1993, was released in 2020, and the band’s latest album, “Smoke & Fiction,” was released in 2024. The band continues to tour with the original lineup: Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom and DJ Bonebrake. Your show tickets will be delivered no earlier than four days before the show date.
